Michael J. Brooks began his literary journey during his college years, during which he penned his debut novel, Exodus Conflict. Although the manuscript initially faced a "cordial rejection" from Penguin Books due to their limited bandwidth for launching new authors, Michael remained undeterred. He chose to self-publish Exodus Conflict, and the book became a finalist in the 2013 Next Generation Indie Book Awards and earned an Honorable Mention from the London Book Festival.
He followed his debut with a sequel, Exodus Conflict: New Genesis. Committed to professional quality, Michael personally funded independent editors for both projects, a process that allowed him to refine his craft.
Years after completing the Exodus Conflict duology, Michael transitioned to his current ambitious project: the Wars of the New Humanity series, which has three installments currently available. Looking forward, Michael aims to secure a traditional publishing contract and adapt his storytelling for the big screen.
